Today’s photo comes from the albums of blu_iguana. Here’s what he has to say about his photo:

“Modified Chevy . . . always a draw at the Cruise-Ins! Ain’t SoCal great!”

Be sure to look at all of blu_iguana’s photos and our other albums. And if you would like to recommend your favorite photo with a GM car or truck in it, put it up on Flickr and tag it with “gmfyi.”

They do take pride in their old Chevys. I wonder if 30 years from now they will be resurrecting old 2006 Malibus and Impalas?

This is not to say there is anything wrong with these cars today, but I am thinking while I look at these pictures…something is lost. It’s called heritage. Now we can talk about change and moving forward all we want but if we forget where we came from we are just moving in circles.

Now in this universe everything is moving relative to something else, and all objects while they move, indeed, they move forward. Still we use the term generally to describe one object moving ahead of another, slower body. That body that looks like it’s moving ahead is doing either of two things. Either it is passing you, or its revolving around you.

If you know where you came from then you are solid and stand firm. The object that is moving will be pulled in your direction. Instead of moving forward, that object is actually only moving around you. Why?

Because one object remembered its place in the universe. It remembered where it has been but the other one is radical. It moves just to move.

In short, the only way to get ahead and to move forward, is to remember where you came from and never loose sight of that place. If you don’t remember where you came from, then your moving in circles and eventually that radical object will be eaten and consumed by the more stable object.

I don’t care what automaker thinks it is moving forward, once GM remembers its place, they will all rotate around GM.
