A Few of My Favorite Things

Two of my favorite things are my 2004 Chevy Trailblazer and my iPod. I’m 45 years old, I teach kindergarten and I have four children, so I spend a lot of time in my car. My husband gave me an iPod last Christmas, and I use it all the time. I keep meaning to get the gadget that would make it possible for me to listen to my music in my car, but so far I haven’t gotten around to it.

I found out that by the end of next year, GM will feature a new device called the “Personal Audio Link” for all their new cars and trucks. I like that GM gets how a music lover like me might want to design my own playlists to listen to in the car. I’ve always loved the radio, but now I can be my own disc jockey and design playlists just for me when on the road.

Music has always been important to me; I’m always searching for cutting-edge music played on college radio stations. My kids have taught me how to find and buy music at the iTunes store, but I feel loyalty to the musicians and I like to hear their whole range, so I still buy the album at Tower Records and then load it on the iPod. Right now I’m listening to Josh Ritter, Holly Brook and Corinne Bailey Rae.

The Personal Audio Link will be a huge consideration when we buy our next car.
