Camaro Is a Go!

The Camaro concept at the North American International Auto Show.

This past winter, the Camaro concept lit up the auto shows and stirred emotions in thousands of car buffs in a way that hasn’t been seen in years. While we were certainly enthusiastic about the concept, we’re even more thrilled that it will be a production car.
Read Bob Lutz’s musings over at the FastLane Blog, and while you’re there, check out the press release that was issued today for more information and quotes from other GM executives, including Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner, who made the announcement this morning.
We look forward to your feedback.

Sign me up! But if Chevy fans are getting their Camaro what about us Pontiac fans and our bird? Please Bob, please! It just makes more sense to build the Firebird in its many performance variants (v6, v8) on the Camaro’s platform rather than the GTO which has always been V8 and more expensive.
Regardless, kudos GM. You’re on the right track and I have been impressed with just about every new GM I’ve seen roll down the red carpet. Even if I don’t get my 2009 Firebird, this new Camaro is enough to keep my faith in this company as firm as ever.
