Pandora Provides the Tunes for Road Trips

As a consultant for GM, I think I’ve got one of the coolest jobs around. I get to talk to people who are dreaming up the next big thing for new media and then see how GM might tap into it.

In my travels across the web, I found a site called Pandora. It creates personalized Internet radio stations based on a favorite song or artist you provide. Pandora also lets you give feedback that influences the kinds of songs that will play on a station in the future.

In addition to listening to music I like, I thought of something that no other car company could do: GM Radio. I put in search terms like Cadillac, Chevy and Corvette and built a Pandora station that captures the nostalgia and deep roots of GM in American popular music.

Does anyone out there have a comprehensive list of songs about GM cars including Chevy, Cadillac, Corvette, Buick or Pontiac? Let me know, I’d love to see it. Try the site out for yourself and see what you can come up with.

    Nellie,
    I’ll try a few:
    “Terminus Eldorado” - Ted Nugent
    “Pink Cadillac” - Bruce Springsteen
    “409″ - Beach Boys
“Dead Mans Curve” ie. the Stingray - Jan and Dean
“GTO” - Ronny and the Daytonas
“Brand new Cadillac” - The Clash
    “Little Red Corvette” - Prince
    “Trans Am” - Sammy Hagar
    “Ol’ 55″ - Tom Waits
These are the more common songs I remember I’m sure there are others. I listen to internet radio most days, I like the diversity of the selections unlike terestrial radio. Very similar to satellite radio. Pandora is an interesting site, thanks for posting the info.
PS. Offer more premium high end OEM audio/entertainment systems options in future vehicles please.
