Students Design Customized HHR Panels

Chevy does a lot of cool stuff with college students. (Like our Aveo Livin’ Large contest and the Chevy Super Bowl College Ad Challenge, to name a couple). A few weeks back, we hooked up with the College for Creative Studies (CCS) in Detroit, teaming with a class of third-year students. We gave them a tall order: create the ultimate expression for the Chevy HHR Panel - a complete vehicle wrap that draws into their own experience and knowledge about how to reach their notoriously fickle peers.

This unique partnership allowed CCS students to gain valuable real life experience in a design/consulting environment, and also gave Chevrolet creative insight into 18- to 25-year-old consumers and what attracts them to specific vehicles and brands. During five weeks of the semester, seven junior level Advertising Design students focused entirely on the HHR Panel, researching target demographics and creating exclusive designs and integrated marketing plans to appeal to 18- to 25-year-olds.

Here are the seven designs the students created. Next week at the New York Auto Show, Chevrolet will display the winning design. (We’ll let you know who won!)
