Martha Stewart and the Chevy Volt

In case you missed it…

The Chevy Volt electric plug-in concept made its Martha Stewart Show debut this morning as part of the homemaker extraordinaire’s focus on earth-friendly living. Before talking in-studio with Cheryl Catton, GM General Director of Car Marketing, Stewart reminded her audience that 78 percent of all commuters drive less than 40 miles a day — making the Volt a perfect fit, since it can go 40 miles on its electric charge.

In addition to showing off the Volt, the pair discussed hybrid vs. electric vehicles, and the system behind Chevy’s Equinox fuel-cell vehicle, which will be on the road as part of a test program by the end of this year. Be sure to check back here in the coming days; we’ll post video from the Martha Stewart appearance when it becomes available. Until then, take a look at Martha’s web site for a preview from today’s show. -Christopher Barger, GM Director of Global Communications Technology
