If this gets to market, it will help make up for the destruction of the former electric car which was the feature of "Who killed the electric car".
This could restore GM to the lead in the auto industry, rather than being an also ran to the Japanese. It could also restore GM profitability.
Best of Luck in making this work. John S.

This is brilliant! But I won't believe it until I test drive it and is available for purchase.
Great work!!

Volt will finally rid us of our dependence on questionable regimes in oil-rich countries around the world.
GM will be freed from sales of cars being dependent on oil price manipulation.
The world will be freed from the curse of Global Warming. And the car enthusiast in me gets high-tech with rear-wheel drive hub motors.
This is America at its best.
I want one, with NIMH or LI, whatever can be done right away. Thank you Bob, thank you Rick, thank you all on the Volt Team.

GM needs to step on it and get this car and others like it off the d#mn drawing board and in my garage. A GM product man since birth, I am not looking forward to going foreign to get a car that gets better than 40 miles per gallon now. GM's thinking that the market will not support a small economically engineered car line-up is what is putting Toyota ahead of them with cars like the Prius, UGLY as sin but with 60 m.p.g. who cares. GM’s answer was the Aura green line… not even close, looks better, handles better and is designed better hands down than Prius but still only 35 m.p.g. highway 27 m.p.g. city, I think that is the best m.p.g. General Motors is offering now on any of their cars or trucks. GM is standing there scratching their head wondering why Toyota sales of this little car out sold the Aveo 3 to 1. I need my GM to stop playing with crayons, clay and paper and start building what they do best, cars that meet the needs for the market now, not in 2009 or 2010. By then I will be a Toyota person as well as the rest of the country and GM will drop to 2nd or 3rd place behind foreign car companies that are building what the market is demanding now.

Are you really going to produce this car and make it available for purchase? You will be leading the car industry if you do. It's a true concept car and unlike anything else currently on the market. Go for it! America is more than ready.

So you have the Volt. What are you waiting for? Announce the production already. You can come up with variations later. I ready to buy.

This is outstanding! Good looks and electric. I'm ready to buy!

I really want a plug-in car for driving to work. I now own a Toyota Highlander Hybrid, which is fun to drive and gets OK mileage, very good for its size. My next vehicle will be a plug-in if I have the choice, and I would love to be able to buy one made in the USA.
This Chevy system sounds perfect. My only negative is that the styling should be toned down. I prefer being able to see out the windows over looking "cool", especially in a smallish car on roads still crowded with big SUVs.

Being a life long GM buyer and a Detroit native, I wecome a hybrid that has some style and looks like a fuel efficient car a guy can get out of and not be embarrassed. Thank you for designing a hybrid that at least looks like its exciting and reflects some Detroit muscle from the past

After viewing "Who killed the electric car?" I swore that I would never buy another GM product. The Volt may change my mind.

I want my next car to be a plug-in hybrid. Don't make me buy something from Japan, come on, you're selling cars not toadying up to big oil.

Make it already, I have a check ready! I drive an Insight to work and would gladly drive it under a tahoe to get a Volt!
