GM has a history, a heritage, and an enthusiasm among grass roots car people in the U.S. that cannot be matched by any other car company. There is a giant culture of restoring, maintaining, showing, racing and every other activity which can be imagined, built around GM products.

    Cruising, for example.

Toyota, Honda, et al, do not have 1% of this heritage or love among car people. They would die to have it.

How is it then that modern GM cars continue to lose market share, and respect among current car buyers? It breaks my heart.

The challenge for GM, totally unmet so far in my opinion, is to figure out how to utilize this priceless asset to revitalize its car operations.
