This week’s find from the GM Media Archive is a photo of a 1970 Buick GSX.
Thanks to everyone who suggested photos to find and stories to write about on our last archive find. We’re working on those requests right now! Make sure to check back to FYI regularly for those posts.

The GSX has always been a favorite muscle car of mine. Buick came to the table in a big way with this gentleman’s muscle car. Buick’s slogan of “light your fire” vehicles truly captured the essence of this powerful car. The 455 Stage 1 engine made this one of the fastest muscle cars of all time with an impressive 510lbs ft of torque. I personally have a passion for the GSX as my father was the program manager for this vehicle at Buick engineering. Also, we have one of these cars tucked away in the garage for the winter. Great to look at and even more fun to drive.

Dan you’re lucky! I wish I had one like that too.
And I wish Buick will make cars like that again!
